Cam Help

I am looking into a cam upgrade for my 95 Trans Am. Here is a list of mods: !air, !egr, Hooker Super Comp LTs, ORY, Flowmaster, Ram Air, TPIs 52mm TB, TB bypass, 1.6 RR, MSD, LT4 KM, PCMForLess tune, Speed Pro Hyper pistons and a LT4Hot Cam. I am looking at the Comp Cams XFI292 and the Lunati Voodoo 60123 cams. Here is my issue, I still drive the car to work on a regular basis (it's only about 6 miles one way), so I don't want this thing to be insane on the street. I do drag race the car and the heads are ported so tell me what you think.

My view: Since you're using the car primarily as a daily driver, the XFI's duration is too long for a 350 CID engine, especially with an auto trans and stock converter (if you're running those). 224 In/230 Ex @ .050" is as much as I'd run.

Remember, one of the most common mistakes is over-camming an engine. You probably know what I'm referring to, the "Bigger is Better" way of thinking.

My GM847 runs flawlessly on the street. Drive it everyday. I do have a 3600 stall, though, so I'm sure that helps a ton at low speeds. Locked up, it's fine.

What valve springs do you have on there now? You might have to change them out for either of those cams. XFI will probably more aggressive than you want. Look for a Voodoo cam around 22x duration. (I don't remember the numbers)
