cam and gas milage

I don't know a lot about cams and thought you guys can help me out here.
LT4 Hot cam
bolt on car
1. Will if effect gas milage much.

2. How much HP does a cam add to a minor bolt on car or stock car. 5-15 or what?

3. lt4 cam vs the lt4 kit with 1.6 RR what is the difference?

4. 1.6 is that ok with stock valve covers, any increased chane of valive float etc.

5. What is the power band of the hot cam.

6. Will turning a stock bottom end lt1 with just the l14 hotcam kit with 1.6 RR to 6600 is that bad?

The cam it is nice cause its got everything pieced together for you at a good price. I've heard the springs are marginal, that they will work for this cam with its advertised height, but anything with more lift will send them floating. Personally I would buy a nice set of springs elsewhere to install, Combination Motorsports have good ones that will suit your needs, they are a pain to install and if you ever go wwith a bigger cam you can without having to change the springs again-depending on which springs, how long they were used, new cam specs, etc. Don't just install the cam without the new springs, this would be some serious trouble as you need new ones for the higher lift, plus the old ones are probably more towards being on the way out.
Gas mileage should stay roughly the same, you'll see a slight loss, but nothing crazy, especially if you stay off the gas. Adding bigger gears and stall convertor will contribute to worse gas mileage as well, and people that have all the bolt-ons plus cam still see 24-26 MPG--Freeway some less some more, but expect 24 or less.
I'd say at least 30 horses, with the combo of cam and rockers, I've read of more than this, but for this cam this is a good number
You'll want to get the 1.6 for the added lift, otherwise you'll lose power
I'd check ut the vendor index and see if there are any specials or other cams that you might like. The hotcam is great and many people have run awesome times with it, but some feel its small or comes with cheap parts. For the price its a great kit get it from Jason Cromer http://samtaylor.com/html/parts.html
You'll only see valve float with the wrong valve springs, or hte stockers, and the 1.6 will work fine for the stock covers, my CC 1.6 fit fine I did have to bend up the metal brakets on the inside that give it strength, you might have to do the same, but it takes all of 2 minutes to do with a pair of plyers and there wil be no bad after-effects
From what I hear the powerband is very wide, thats why its such a great street cam, I'm guessing its from about 2500 rpm to 6700 keeping in mind ported heads will be needed to get it to breath that far up in the powerband. Stock heads will probably die out at 6000 or just past that. I can't be entirely sure smeone else can help with that Also the computer will need a new tune, especially if you want to rev that high, the computer will hit the rev limiter before you hit 6600(I think its at 6400, but could be wrong, someone else should know for sure)
Some people tend to rev that high, me personally would not go over 6500 on the stock block, but thats me. As long as your valvetrain is up to the task and the engine was taken care of you should be ok. Make sure you get a double roller timing chain or the heavy duty chain because you'll slip that stock one reving it that high eventually which will cost more money and agony
