Cam finished... Thank you everyone!

I just finished up doing my cam swap this weekend and got it on the road today. Havent been able to really get on it at all but i definantly can feel a huge power increase.
I put in a CC 503, 1.6 NSA Pro-Mags, 7/16" studs, GMPP guideplates, Comp hardened pushrods, GM lifters, Comp Beehives w/ 10* hardware, of course valve seals, and a brand new opti, also got a MADZ28 tune.
Everything seems to be working fine, just had to tighten up a couple hose clamps on the water pump.
The valvetrain is making a lot more noise now, but I can only barely hear it inside the car with the windows down. From searching that seems to be okay, but i will definantly keep an ear on it and possibly re-check them after a few miles. Any comparisons on how loud is normal?
I wanted to say thank you to everyone on this board . I have gotten answers to my questions by posting a few times, but mostly just a lot of searching. I used Shoebox's guide for the swap, so many thanks to him.

Thanks,
-Greg

I can hear my valvetrain without a lot of trouble. Seems to be normal. Glad you got it all back together.

I jsut had this isse last night with getting my motor running, since its gone through a heat cycle, the lifters have primed. Re adjust all your rockers, making sure the lifters are not on the lobe, Shoebox has a excellet section on this.

Readjusting mine really quited it down. I still hear noise but the lifters run mint. ON my morels i used 2/3 turn.

Youll hear more noise just because of the paper think Hooker LTs. My valvetrain is considerably louder with Hooker LTs than with SLP shorties. And you may have some loose rockers. You should not hear any "clack, clack, clack.." sound but more if a subtle ticking. Resetting the lash tighter didnt make a difference on my motor but some people say it has on theirs... Im a believer once you have zero lash estabilished, theres no getting quieter.

Also talking to Bret, he also mentioned the stock valve covers being paper thin does help either. I have Jet hot LT's which are based on a hooker design, I dont know if the primary thickness is the same but mine can be heard.

Thanks, I worked on it when i could for a period of 5-6 weeks. My car is outside in the driveway so weather played a huge factor. I also work 30 hours a week and have night classes at LTU, so it was usually 5 hours on a sat or sunday or maybe an hour or two on a weekday. This is my first time doing anything like this, so i took my time and triple checked everything and marked as much as i could as i pulled stuff off.
Yeah, you can come check the car out anytime and if you need any help let me know.
