Quick Crank Pulley Removal ?

I havent even gotten to the step where everyone has trouble yet! I can't even get the 3 16mm bolts off. The car is in park and the pulley just turns. I tried it in drive too, no luck. What do I do?

When I got to that step I used a hammer on the ratchet to break each free.

A 3/8 bolt cut about 3 and 1/4 inches will save you a lot of pain and anguish once you get pulley off.

Stick a long bar through the spokes of the pulley to wedge against something on the engine. Just be careful what it is against cannot be damaged.

Thanks guys. I ended up sticking a horseshoe stake through the spoke and wedged it against the block.

Impact wrench works very well.

Yeah, but a horseshoe stake adds some character.

how about just using a second rachet to hold one of the other bolts and then just lightly tapping the last one????
