Ain't nothing wrong with going with the LT4 cam. There are a few people here that have used the LT4 and have gotten mid to low 12's using this cam with very minimal work. As for you're question, I'd use a new set of lifters and a new timing chain. All the bolt on's will help performance so keep that in mind, as for gaskets Idk if they still recomend the impala head gaskets but those would work and help bump compression for more usable power.
if i do get the hotcam kit...should i get diffrent springs cus i see all u guys saying that u should if u have a lt1 and are getting the hotcamm kit....if so what springs would be a good match for that cam kit...thanks agian for the help
if you are purchasing the hotcam KIT as you said in one of your posts, you will get the springs with it... the kit comes with LT4 springs and GM 1.6's... and those springs will do just fine with that cam
I see he edited his post due to youyr response, which was the right thing to do. However they do make a hotcam kit for the LSX as well.
Yeah I see how that could be confusing now that I reread it lol, my post not the original response. There would be no confusion to that, two different motors and the correct response. I was trying to say that they make a hotcam for the lsx engines as well as the ltx engines, for some odd reason I took it as it said only hotcams for ltx...my bad and I apologise.
