Post Cam decision time. which ones to choose from?

95 a4 w/ stock LT1 heads and the rest in sig. Wanting something with alot more lope other than the cc305 that I am running now. I am installing a LT4 shortblock so I am thinking my bottom end will be a bit stronger. It is my everyday driver and I am not going to do a stall other than the stock, so which cam do I want to get the most lope and also with 1.5 rr's? And with this cam, I do not want to have to do anything to the heads or whatever for something to fit as far as springs etc.... I have seen where some people are using some custom grind cams... what is your opinion?

Thanks
-Mike

did you do springs when you did the cc305? if not i am suprised they held up to that, i have heard of some people having problems wiht stock springs and 1.6rr's, i would say that you would DEFFINATLY not be able to go any bigger with stock springs. as far as stock stall and no head porting, none of that is NECASSARY for a bigger cam, just that you will be getting nowhere near what you can out of your setup

These are not the stock springs, they are the comp springs and comp 1.5rr's. I am looking for more lope at idle and maybe so more torque in there somewhere.

I just dont see how I could run that big of a cam w/o other work having to be done to the heads as far as machining to make the springs or rockers fit......

Dude I'm pretty sure it was a joke, that cam is REALLY badass.
I would go for the 224/230 or 227/233 XE the 224 is a little milder and works good with stock heads it's the one I'll choose when I cam my Z.

well since you have springs i would look into one of the xe grinds, from all of the sound clips i have heard they always lope more than the regular grinds. do a search and find you some sound clips of cams and see what you like, i think the 224/230 xe hits alot harder than the cc305

What do you want out of the car? The springs should really fit the cam you put in the motor, too many guys get sub par results from a setup that is not matched well together.
