a Cam, which Cam
a Cam, which Cam
I am installing long tube headers, and polished heads, and i heard to really feel these i need to install a cam. My question then is, where or what is a good cam in the 100-200 dollar range?
Re: a Cam, which Cam
don't base a cam off of the price you base it off what you want/need to accomplish. Also a cam install requires alot more parts then 1-200 bucks. If you want the cheapest cam set up get a hot cam, but you will still need gaskets and a timing chain.
Re: a Cam, which Cam
P&P heads won't really gain much on stock internals (cam), maybe 15hp...
but longtubes will definately wake the car up. they are noticable on even stock cars...
get those...then research the heads/cam issue

Re: a Cam, which Cam
for the cam you are looking for about 250 for the cam alone. + the price of gaskets, new timing chain,
then you going to keep the stock rocker arms?
doing a full cam install is around 1k

Re: a Cam, which Cam
haha Maybe if you are going to replace stuff you don't really need to replace. I have a lot of friends who have done it for about 200 flat. Although most of them are of little help now.
Re: a Cam, which Cam
Cam itself is going to be 200+, no matter which one you buy. Even after that, BARE minumum you are going to need springs too. Bigger cam will require more than a smaller one (bigger springs, rocker arms, pushrods etc etc).
