cam break-in
Just installed in my 95 LT1, a Comp Cams "Extreme" LT1 Camshaft, 218 / 224, .495 / .502 112 LSA. Do I really need to rev the engine for half an hour to break the cam in????

I am going to run mine for 20min at 2k or so then drain the oil.... Is that all that is needed? I am also going to run non synthetic for 300miles or so then put in synthetic... My question is how long do i beed to go untill i can really get on it?
There really is no reason to break in a roller cam like that. You do want to change the oil/filter though since theres a good chance dirt may have gotten into the engine when you had it opened up. When I did my cam I let the car run for about 10-15min. and then changed the oil/filter. Then I drove it for about 100miles and changed again.

I would just take it easy until you change your oil/filter at least the first time. Its not that your worried about wear patterns on the parts themself, its dirt and other stuff that may be in your oil and running through the engine.

Better to at least get a few good heat and cool cycles into the parts. They will be stronger that way. Maybe (hopefully) you put in new valve springs, too. They need to be heat cycled several times as well.
