Cruise control went...

Well I knew it was going to happen but why did it happen? One day it worked fine, then I was on the way to work the next and there was nothing. So what goes out for this to happen and how do I fix it? Thanks!

Mine quit when I burned out a bulb in the wing brake light. Replacing the bulb fixed it.

GM's multi stick has always been known to have a few problems from time to time..........the cruise went on my Blazer and my fathers truck - it was discovered that the multi turn signal/wipers/cruise control tree was the problem in both cases.

There's a lot going on in that little stick.......

Same thing happened on by winter beater car (chevy lumina).
replaced the multi-function arm, and it worked fine. good thing too cause the arm was 50 bucks, cruise unit was over 200. i would think it would be the arm before the cruise unit n e ways. i mean, look at the use the arm gets as compared to the cruise unit, makes sense that the one with more use on it would crap out first

The switch that disengages the cruise control when you step on the brake or clutch pedal could've gone bad.

Mine went the same time my bulb int eh wing went out as well...i haven'treplaced tbe bulb yet to make sure that was it. But semeed more than coincidental that they both went at the EXACT same time =) So i would check your upper brake light bulb first.

my cruise went out and i took it to the gas station we're friendly with and they said everything checked out so i'd have to take it to a dealer for further investigation....but i figured that would be expensive so i just said forget it...

how would something like a light or coil cause the cruise to go out? i'd like to fix my cruise control w/o getting jacked by a dealer

i dont think i have any bulbs out...
