Question cam bearing question

finally got my engine apart for a H/C swap

the engine has around 130,000 miles on it.

Inside of the engine looks in excelent condition, found very lil if any signs of wear.

but the front cam bearing seems to have a slight ridge on the back of it even though I can't seem to feel it with my fingernail. the cam does not appear to have any signs of wear.

should this be ok? or should i replace the front bearing?

im leaning towards thinking it will be just fine. since i cant really seem to find any threads talking about spun cam bearings.

Thanks for any help
-Matt

Re: cam bearing question

IMO, with that many miles, all cam bearing should be replaced.

Re: cam bearing question

It would be foolish to have a motor with that many miles apart and not replace the cam bearings.

Re: cam bearing question

I would let a shop change them, there's a certain procedure for doing these. I didn't know you can get a single bearing, always thought that they came in a set of five.

Re: cam bearing question

You can buy them individually, but in this case he should replace all five. It is not too difficult but needs a special tool like the one on this page. Note: each bearing has to go in the proper location. They are numbered.
