Cam for Autocross I need opinions

I mainly autocross my car and am looking to add Hooker LT's or 1 3/4" shorties and a cam in the next couple of months. I know there are a lot of cam threads but I'm not a drag racer and I need area under the curve and to make lowend torque since I autocross. I'm going to be using stock heads since I don't think I'll have enough money left over after converting optisparks.
Here's what I'm considering...
1) LT4 Hot Cam
2) CC305 220 / 230, .510 / .510 114 LSA
3) Comp Cams "Extreme" LT1 Camshaft, 218 / 224, .495 / .502 112 LSA
4) Comp Cams "Extreme" LT1 Camshaft, 224 / 230, .502 / .510 112 LSA

Opinions appreciated .

Well first off, I think the LT4 HOTcam was developed for showroom stock road racing. I'm not sure what all that entails, but I have heard it. Given that info I think the HOTcam would be great for you. It's not too big, and it should be fine on stock heads. Otherwise, if you wanted something with some more topend I would try choice #3-Comp Cams "Extreme" LT1 Camshaft, 218 / 224, .495 / .502 112 LSA.

OH well, put my vote in for the hotcam. It's cheaper and should be a fine cam for you.

John

BTW I'm going with the HOTcam in my car, but I will have ported heads too.

for what its worth the zz4 cam makes stupid tq on a stock lt1 and while it gives up maybe 10hp to the hotcam up top it destroys it in the mid range tq department. also the crane 210/224 is a torque minded little cam. if mid range tq is what you're after stick small cam high lift. you might even consider a 214/224 from comp. ifi was you i'd talk to an engine builder.

yeah, autox favors low/mid-range torque, so get a cam that will deliver it. i autox and to tell you the truth, i'm getting stupid (<i>stupid, yo!</i>) torque from the stock cam. spins autox slicks with not much more effort than street tires. i would say torque from 2,000-4,000 is where autox is at

I would run a bigger cam, something in the 306 territory and gear it accordingly, ie 4.10s probably. so instead of working with 2-5000k, you work with 3500-6500
