So every after market cam I see is 4 degrees advanced timing. I am pretty sure I saw that even the stock cam is 4 degrees advanced. I think the theory here is that the timing chain stretches some and actual timing is no so advanced as 4 degrees. I am looking to order a custom cam. With a custom cam I can order my lobe separation of 110 with an intake center line of 106. Which is 4 degrees advanced. My question is does the 4 degree advance still hold true with a double roller? I am thinking a double roller has less stretch then the stock type timing chain but I may be wrong here. Thanks in advance!

 

To answer my own question the double roller timing chain will still stretch from what I read in forums and this you tube vid . It took that guy 20k miles to stretch 4 degrees on his Cloyes double roller on a BBC. I am sure there are many factors that can effect the timing stretch such as valve train mass, rpm range, and valve spring pressure rates. When I order my custom cam it will be 4 degrees advanced.
