Ok here is the deal, I am seriously thinking about putting a performance camshaft in my 94' z28. The one i am looking at is the 306 Lift: .555''/.555'' RPM Range: 3000-7000. I was wondering if it would be stupid to do this with out replacing the heads. Also, i would like to know how much of a difference i will see w/ alimunium heads vs. ported. Thanks!
if you are talking about the cc306 cam, i would seriously consider getting some headwork done before installing this cam. you might also want to think about what you want out of your cam. with a 306 cam, you might have to spin your motor a little higher in the rpm's than most would want to take a stock shortblock. i am not sure what you are talking about between the aluminum heads and the ported heads. you can have both.

About the heads I was wondering what the gain of the aliminum heads would be. I know that you can port them, but why would i want to port aliminum heads opposed to porting the stock heads.
