The K&N isn't that big of a deal for me I guess, I rarely have to take it off except for cleaning. The filter fell off once a long time ago, since then after cleaning ive been very careful to degrease the lip of the filter that clamps onto the intake portion and it has never fallen off in 6 years. The filter fell off because of the excess oil that slides down onto the rubber.

Getting it in is now an easy 1 person job too because I found you can stuff rags between the frame and the tubing to prevent it from moving around.
So for the 1x a year I clean it its no real hassle at all for me
