For the answer to the traction control question.

ASR=traction control. If you have a 1995 which I believe u said u did, you wont have it. The light in the gauges is there, but they didn't start equiping them with asr until 1996 or 1997. All v8 f-body cars come with limited slip. Close to positrac but not quite as good. A B4C is a z28 with an oil cooler and a couple other minor things for police duty. Hope that helps. -Michael

 

Tell me why Positrac is better, since it's only a marketing name for a limited slip differential.

 

Go lay down some burnout marks and look at them. One will be slightly darker than the other. If you had posi, they would be the same darkness, because its and even distribution between each wheel. Thats why I said its close. When it all comes down to it, there isnt much difference. So, if you had limited slip there would be no point in ever switching to posi. Hope that answers your question.

 

My LPE makes my aftermarket hood stick up a little bit, see sig for pics. And the CAI doesn't have any different affect on your "Police Crusier" as to a Z28. Yours is a Z28, also. IMO, B4Cs aren't anything special. I would personally go with SLP.


ASR was available in 94', not many had it. Most Z28s came with it in 95 not 96, 97.

Only 310 made that year - even fewer with M6 and leather. Maybe a dozen in dk. purple.

There were some 20-30K Z28's that year.

 

Well yeah, they may be rare. B4C was an option, not nessicarily making it better than a Z28. I'd take a SS over it anyday. Not saying your car isn't nice, just saying that it's nothing special to me. I could care less if mine had the option or not. 17k miles is nice, indeed

I have never seen traction control or asr on anything but a 97-up. I have seen cars with every option too, people that bought them new. Oh well. I would tell u to go with the real cold air intake. The gm ss air intake. I had a moroso and pulled it off for the ram air. It pulls so much harder top end now. no real difference between the two cai's down low though. But you gots to throw down the 600 or so for the hood and another 300 for the intake. I would do it again!

 

I have a Moroso CAI and it works just fine. Headers should be your next mod, if you don't already have them, as the major restriction in the exhaust in 1994 was the stock manifolds. When I installed a cat back, it did absolutely nothing for performance. The headers picked up mph, lowered my ET and helped my gas mileage.

If you don't yet have one, a short throw shifter will also help you significantly.

 

Save yourself ~$100 and do what I did!! I made my own using an APC kit for a Honda. Yes it flows good (3" tube), yes it looks even better.

Are you kidding? Yes your intake looks nice and all, but the filter is still inside the engine compartment sucking in hot air. The whole point of a cold air intake is to locate the filter where it can get cooler air. I guarantee you any of the intakes made for our cars (excluding the G2) will make more power than yours.

 

My 95 single cat California car with OBD1 came with ASR.
