A/C question

This is actually for my wife's Grand Prix:

The A/C usually works just fine. In the past 4 days, twice the A/C has not blown out cold air. The car is driven several different times a day. What's weird is the next time I drive it, it works just fine. Is the refrigerant getting low or does this sound like something else?

Hey Ryan! How have you been?

My a/c started going in and out about a year ago. Last week the compresor finally froze up. Also, there is a vacuum check valve that can cause the a/c not to blow cold (on Fbodies anyway). Could also be a pressure switch...maybe?

Hey Ryan. Are you still going to UTA? If so, do you live in Arlington?

Go for the cheapest way out first and try to recharge it.

Has anyone ever done this to a Grand Prix (97-02). I am not too familiar with work on A/C parts on any car.
