A/C Compressor Clutch won't engage
A/C Compressor Clutch won't engage
I was having similar problems as the guy in this post and had a question. When I jump the compressor relay and test the two pins that connect to the compressor, one is hot positive, but the other one is not ground? Does this sound like my problem. I checked the wire and it looks to be fully intact. My car used to be a V6 and I just finished an LT1 swap, is it possible I am missing an engine ground? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: A/C Compressor Clutch won't engage
I have a brand new compressor... and it doesn't work when I try that trick either.
Only way I got it to start was disconnect the battery for 5 minutes... reconnect... turn engine on A/c on Max and start squeezing freon into the thing... then walla click and it came on... some guy on here in some post long ago said something about the PCM not allowing the 134a to register so the compressor will turn on... I think it's true... because my compressor only worked after I reset the computer.

Heat,
Thanks for the reply. I tested the compressor relay socket in the engine bay and it looks like the computer is sending the "turn-on" signal. Plus I just had it charged by an AC shop. I think I am going to try and reground the ground wire that goes to the compressor. The car used to be a V6 so it is possible I missed an engine ground.
