Buying new tires: Firehawk SZ250 or Goodyear f1 gs d3????

What tires do you all reccomend that I order? As well what firehawk tires are you talking about, the specific model(250 ep?)? I think I am going to decide between these to. My mods are listed as below and as you can see i need Excellent traction for my gears and converter. I only see the track once or twice a month.

How many miles you all think that these tires will get around average with daily driving? As well the goodyear f1 ds g3 are the HIGHEST overall rating tire on tirerack.com.

That I'm not sure of. It's my first set of Firestone or tires for that matter, since I bought this car. I'm hoping LOTS of miles.

Another vote for the SZ50's I don't know anything about the other tires you asked about, but I know that I can do things in the rain now that I couldn't do in the dry before.

I like nitto 555's in the rear for daily driving, but if your lookin for a drag radial, get the bfg DR's.

You may want to look here as far as ordering your tires go. I find that you can not beat their prices. You can get most small and some big tire shops to mount and balance for about $10 a tire and a $10 disposal fee for all. This site has free shipping. I have used them twice and have nothing but praises.

Look at the F1's there as well, they'll probly be a lot cheaper

I just bought a set of Goodyear GS-C and they are kick-a** tires. Soft compound tire though. 220 Tread wear rating which is great for screaming around corners and off ramps. Pretty good in the rain also, but the dry traction for launching is amazing. Look into them.

I am going to be getting a set of the Firehawk SZ50's soon too...they appear to be amazing tires for traction and the tread pattern is pretty nice as well....

So that would be my vote....

I put a pair of GS D3s on my car in April, and I drive about 350 miles a week on average, and these tires still look like new! They rock at the dragstrip (best 60ft is 1.99, typical is low 2.0s) and are great in the rain. I highly recommend them.

I vote for the GS D3. After reading the reviews on Tirerack I decided that they would be the best choice for the money.

They're excellent at the track (2.0 60 fts).
There is no increased road noise over the stock tires.
They have incredible grip. With my old tires I knew at which point the back end would break loose depending on how much throttle I gave it and the sharpness of my turn. With the GS D3 they don't like to let the car break out. They just bite harder and launch you out of corners. The wet traction is also amazing. Complete confidence even in crazy downpours.

The tread wear has been very good as well. They're rated t 280 so they won't wear out after a season or two.

The tread pattern looks awesome to boot.

I just got a set of Nitto 555's recently. They're on my 17x9 wheels. So far I've been amazed at how good they grip. They handle great in the wet stuff, and I've even managed to cut a better 60' w/ these than I ever could w/ the 16" Nitto DR's. Cut a 2.05 which isn't all that compared to my normal 60's - but that was w/ my spec stage 4 clutch <- no slipping ... On the street they flat out hook as well.

I just ordered 2 Firestone Firehawks from tirerack.com. I changed them from 275 to 285/40/17. I can't wait to get them. I saw how they looked on another car and I was convined. The pictures don't give them much justice.

I am in the same boat as you. I am choosing between the bridgestone re750 and the sz50ep. Not sure what to buy. Both around 125 for a 245/50/16 ea. From what I have heard their both good tires. Leaning toward the firehawks i think
