Buying an LT1 intake, any diff in castings?
I have a 96 ws6. I need to fix the intake oil leak. I was planning on buying an lt1 intake ($40 local) and having it powdercoated, then installing that intake on my car to minimize downtime. Are there any real differences between casting numbers from 94-94?
As mentioned the early castings lack the fuel rail crossover, avoid those and you will be fine.
The LT4 intake does NOT I repeat does NOT have taller ports. The heads do but the intake internally is the same as some of the LT1 intakes, just has more material above the port wehich will interfere with the LT1 head valvecover rail.
Among the probably 2-3 castings that are LT1 and have the fuel rail crossover the differences are not anything to get worked up over, they will all work for you.
