Buying an LT1
Buying an LT1
Im buying an LT1, right now im looking at a 1996 T/A Leather Interior, M6, T-Tops. It is mint condition. Anyway a buddy of mine owns a 1996 Camaro Z-28 and he said that the Camaro was a better LT1. In his words the Camaro is lighter and will beat a T/A in almost every race. I was just wondering if this was true...he also says the LS1 has more lower end torque, but I have also heard that the LT1 has more lower end torque and an LS1 will only have a better higher end.
Your friend is full of it.
There's a very negligible weight difference, if any, between a Z28 and Trans Am.
The LS1 is well known for it's prominent top end revving, while the LT1 is better known for it's low end grunt.

yeah ur friends so full of **** that its pouring out of his ears.
a stock camaro and a stock trans am will both be nose to nose in a race with the same transmission and conditions.
LT1s have much more low end torque while the LS1 has higher top end HP, just like FastBird93 said.

You guys are right about the very small weight difference, but when my car was stock, Z's always gave me a better run than other t/a's. Just could be coincidence though. And Ls1's have more torque than Lt1's , ha ha ha thats pretty funny, tell your friend he should be a comedian.
Thanks, Benji
