Buying long tubes

Ok i am going to buy some long tubes, my shorties wont work with my new BMR K member. I would like to know the best long tubes to get, i dont want anything without cerramic coatings. I would like 1 7/8ths ones but 1 3/4s will work. I am going to be running a 500 hp NA Lt1 in the next year and am allready at full bolt ons. Anyone know the best performing long tubes, and something that has better plug access then i have now. I would love to know the best long tubes for plug access, lt1s are a bitch to do plugs on as it is, i dont wanna take off the exaust to do em all the time. Thanks!

Re: Buying long tubes

Kooks are probably the best quality header on the market, Pacesetter are the best bang for the buck ceramic coated long tube.

Re: Buying long tubes

I just had Kooks stepped 1 3/4-1 7/8 stainless LTs installed on my car and they are fantastic. The only issue I had was I went back to a stock oil filter for better clearance...I use the AC PF454 or equivalent to keep the header tube away from the filter. I also did not have them coated as I haven't found a coating that lasts like it should. The stainless look really cool as they age a little..kinda gold colored. These things offer great ground clearance and appear to have good plug access, especially for a big tube header...

Re: Buying long tubes

I just got Kooks for that very same issue. My AS&M mids wouldn't fit with my BMR K. The kooks have great plug clearence, quality made, and with the BMR, you won't even have to jack the engine to install. Mine slipped right in from the bottom. You'll need the short filter though and if you have a factory oil cooler, that will have to go. There a little more expensive, but I was willing to pay.

Re: Buying long tubes

The Pacesetter bolted right in for me, there were no real modifications that needed to be done.
