Buying a 95 TA

Just wondering. I just purchase a 95 TA with 140,000 miles from some old guy who stated they are highway miles and it drives that way. All that was done to it was and electric water pump and exhaust(Flowmaster and a cutout) I paid 5000.00 was that too much. Drives nice.

seems like an awefull lot for having 140K on the clock. if the rest of the car is in mint cond. than i guess it isn't so bad. start saving for a rebuild...
can you say three-eighty-three?

Well, you may or may not be all right. There's more than a few guys on here with a lot more miles than that. These are good engines, just depends on how they were treated. Old guy? You may be ok. Just keep and eye on it, and I agree with the above post. 383.

As long as the body, paint and interior are in good shape I would start saving for the 383 as well. These engines do last, the same block is used for the caprice and some of those cop cars/cabs have close to 250-300k on the clock (I saw 1 with 300,000 on ebay once). Do a search for 383 conversion and see what you can find out. Good luck and do you have any pics yet?
