Question Burnt #6 wire again

I keep burning the #6 wire about a 1/2 inch down from the boot. It's because of the jet hot headers. After the first time, I wrapped it with that furnace type tape that looks like aluminum foil. I worked for awhile, but it's burt again. Is there something I can wrap it with now to keep it from missing and backfireing until I can get a new wire in the mail in a few days? Yes it is missing and backfireing now. Electrical tape or something, duct tape? And last, what can I do to keep this from happening? It's only the #6 wire. Stock wires in stock location. It's tucked up in there the best. The first time, the wires were ran while the motor was pulled out, so it was nice and neat. Should I maybe try getting a longer wire and rerouting it somehow? And help would be appreciated. Thanks

Electrical tape will keep it from arching but im sure it will burn that up pretty quick. Use that and some of the reflective tape you used on the wires. That should hold it for a couple of days

Accel makes this fire sleeving, but i can't find it anymore. Thermo-cool makes that fire-resistand stuff it has a sticky backing. It's like 13 bucks a square foot at Advanced Auto. Just wrap it around the middle part of the wire and have no fear.

Go with an over the valve cover set up and be done with it...Been burning wires since 1995 until I went the OVC route. Thunder sells a kit or you can do your own thru Summit. Just get the Taylor Opti-ends and any good 8mm or 8.5mm wire and have at it. One less thing to worry about, and looks pretty good, too. Add some good firesleeve like the Taylors and you'll never worry about burning anything but rubber again...If you already have an OVC set up then use the firesleeve and end the burning...
