There's a member here who built a 427ci LT1 (4.00 stroke x 4.120 bore) using sleeves. The LT1 block has been pushed by many in excess of 1,000 flywheel HP. There's a member with a twin-turbo who claims he is now looking at 1300-1400 rw HP.

If it isn't built with an LT1 block, it isn't an LT1, IMHO.

Which, developing an LTx tall-block, or reworking an existing LT block w/ 4" stroke and 4.1" bore???

I have a 3.875" stroke LT engine (396 CID) with notches in the block near the pan mounting surface, rod cap-bolts clearanced and small base-circle cam.

What do you have to do to the block to make it sustain those kind of crank hp numbers?

Is a 3.750 stroke the limit without moving the cam up?
