Budget Exhaust System???

Well, money is tight and I got only $300 to purchase an exhaust. Just wondering what are my options for a nice flowing, nice sounding cat-back system. Any ideas guys?

for $300...

hooker or flowmaster

or you could just pull the muffler off your stock system and put in a bullet muffler

Here are a few ideas if you want to save lots of money, just make one your self...

- Buy just a hooker muffler and try to make it fit...

- spend $20 on a bullet.

- just get a cutout (which is the best performance for the value)

-Go here and make a "Getto Bolra" , I hear they sound pretty good http://www.ls1.com/link_exhaust.html

-Or if you dont want the hastle just go with hooker for $300

Hope this helps...

Dynomouth set up is the way to go. Check out this website for more info.

Go to the forsale section of this Forum and you will find great deals on catback.

But if you want one new, I would recommend the Hooker cat back. My friend has one on his 97Z and it sounds great.

Hope that helps,
Claude

Keep an eye on the For Sale section, I picked up my stainless steel catback (nearly new) for $200. Otherwise I'd go with either Random Technology or Hooker for $300 new.

I haven't heard much on this thread about a Flowmaster cat back. I love the way mine sounds, although I haven't heard a hooker yet. Just was wondering what everyone else thought.

How about the Magnaflow? Stainless, 3.5" tips, looks good, straight through muffler (no power choking baffles/chambers), $273.

ive heard magnaflow on a 96 SS w/ BBK shorty's, and it sounded really good. A top candidate for me when I ditch the flowmaster muffler, but I am also liking the looks of that dynomouth set up...

Remove the cat and get a Dynomax Ultraflow.
