what tranny?
GM just changed the nomenclature on their transmissions. The 700R4 is the same as a 4l60. Just as the THM 400 is now a 3L80 and the 125 is now a 3t40. They did this to help with the identification breakdown, ie. the first digit is the number of gears (speeds), the second digit is the type, L=longitudinal, T=transverse and M=manual. The two numerical digits are the torque capacity of the trans. on their scale. The last digit if it has it will be an E, which means it is electronically shifted.
