Ok guys heres the deal ,I am torn between one of these two. I dont have much of a budget 1500. I want to do a 383stroker ,i already have a 400 crank and was goin to keep the lt1 setup. But I dont think the stcok heads will be able to do anything but choke the 383, I would get porting and polish done but i still dont think they would work.i was wondering if i should just go with a nice 350 because of my money issue. I could get a better set of heads. I already have a lt4 hotcam and i have seen some good numbers with that in the stock LT1 setup, i am really just looking for 12 second car. I am looking for some suggestions from you guys.

 

I have a feeling that 1500 dollars isnt gonna cut it. I'm in the middle of a rebuild now and the heads and cam alone were almost 2000 bucks.

 

Thats what i am afraid of. I think it just gonna have to be a rebuild on the lt1 with the stock heads. How much would i get out of port and polish on the stockers, and an lt4 hotcam?

 

Are you in serious need of a rebuild right now? Cause if not, save your money for a little while longer and do it right once so you don't have to keep going back. I honestly wish i had more money or i'd be getting a 396 or bigger. But I am also working w/ budget restraints. Remember this. Its gonna be a lot more expensive once you get into it. Its all that nickle and dime stuff that gets ya.

No i am not in serious need of a rebuild but my car has almost 164k on the engine and it just feels weak, it still turns good times but i just dont want to be in the middle of one of my road trips and have it go on me.
