OK, well i got a pretty good thud today on my way back up to school, and im believing its probably the trans mount since it sounds like its coming from directly inder the console area. Its not all the time but when i get on it pretty good it will pound on the floor. My question is what is a good kind to get? and who has the best prices on them? thanks!

i went to autozone to get mine...i've broken a few of them..nice thing they are LIFETIME War. i think they are like 12 bucks. you will not need to take the cross member out to change the mount..just jack up on the back of the trans and the old one will fall out and the new one will slide right in!

 

Just unbolt it and use a jack and a block of wood on the pan to lift the tranny slightly. You DON'T have to remove the cross member. Undo the 3 bolts and it will come apart in 2 pieces. Use the poly mount by energy suspension. It is a little harsher with slightly more vibration with higher rpm but you'll be done with it.Been there, done that bro

 

You could try the 1le mount from the dealer but I am sure it is still made of rubber. I had to change my drawers the first time mine broke

 

yeah ive put trans mounts in before, was mostly just seein who makes the best ones and how much they were....ive never had to take a cross member off before tho...but my first time on the fbody...we will see. Energy suspension...ok ill be lookin for one online...thanks guys!

I wouldn't get the ES mount, mine caused vibrations from hell. After I put it on and took it for a test drive, the first thing I did was go to gmpartsdirect.com and order a stock mount.

 

Summit ,jegs or even auto zone has it.It should be Part # 1108. Summit has them for 21.00
