Broken Bolt

Alright when i bought this car i noticed an exhaust leak, it's the last bolt on the drivers side, it seems to be broken off in the head any ideas of removal without removing the engine?

There isn't a whole lot of space so i'm guessing engine removal is probably the only option unless the elders have a trick or tool?

You wouldn't pull the whole engine, just that head.

Well, it's kind of hard doin anything like that to your daily driver when you work 6-10 hour days a week...only day i have is sunday and if it doesn't get done, or done right then I don't have a ride monday... =( but not only is the ticking driving me crazy, i'm pretty sure it's throwing off my fuel ratio cuz i'm burning way to much gas...

I'm going through the same thing right now. Same bolt is broke off. Mine is retarding timing like crazy (false knock). It will only get worse trust me. You have two options to "fix" it. Remove the head to extract the broken bolt or upgrade to headers. I know for sure that lpp longtubes do not reuse that bolt so just grind it flush. Neither fix is easy though and it might not be possible for you to do in one day.

You say it doesn't reuse that bolt but in the pictures it looks as if it has a spot for a bolt to hold them on? Just kinda curious about it. http://lpparts.com/store/page6.html

Isn't it always?
It 's called renting a car!! You should at least pull the exhaust manifold and see if any of the bolt is accessable. You might get lucky.

Positive they don't use that bolt. There is another bolt hole closer to the exhast port they use that is covered by the stock manifold. I installed mine last week.

Not yet, but getting close I think. It's no where as bad as it was.

Good, I'm still having ignition issues, i changed coil, wires and plugs, and i can still see blue electricity moving around my coil and in the wire but all my plug wires look fine I'm at a loss. I'm guessing the opti is messing up but doesn't sound near as bad as your timing
