Correct me if im wrong, but i thought they used to make them awhile ago, but stopped. I think baxter was running them for awhile, but not sure.

Anyways, this is an ancient post i bookmarked on the subject.

You're confusing Brodix with Canfield, as far as George Baxter is concerned. His 9.04 was run on a set of highly mod'd Canfields. His current setup uses Brodix heads, but he's also using a Dart Iron Eagle SBC instead of the LT1.

I think the AFR LT4 227cc heads flow that good or a little better, and i'm sure with some additional work you could eek out a little more than that. What we really need is an 18degree head for the LT1. Maybe TFS will help us chevy guys out like they have done for the Ford guys....

They tried once.. and it was crash and burn.. however they are supposed to have new ones out soon (they have been saying this for a few years now)

Brodix LT1 heads

At the Car Craft Summer Nationals ( July 18 & 19) I talked to the Brodix reps and they said that they were working on an LT1 head but it wouldn't be available for another year. They said at this time they make nothing for the LT1.

All you have to do is "convert" a set of Brodix Gen 1 SBC heads to match the reverse flow cooling passages. Been done. I think the Brodix heads have a "spread" port design on the center exhaust ports, so you also need an adaptor plate or custom headers.

Yeah you can't get Brodix heads that'll work out of the box but a few guys here such as MindGame are running specially adapted SB1 heads. You're staring $5,000 in the face though.

Trickflow did make some LT heads that were either 15 or 18 degrees and Ligenfelter used a couple sets. Supposedly they were limited in their flow capabilities.

What ever happened to those Canfields? I think all the "off-road use only" ads I saw for them detered some of the crowd

The heads are 5k... but no S/C is needed to run 10s so cost is more or less the same if you are building ground up+S/c

Well, I think this officially might take the cake (at least in my book) for topics being resurrected from the dead!
