Bringing my 96 LT1 M6 to the track today! First time! need some tips!

I'm sure Jeff will chime in here soon, but I'm bringing my TA to the 1/4 track to lose her track virginity today!

I was going to go tomorrow but after calling a performance shop about getting on the dyno he said I will want to go tonight.

SO! I'll be bringing my 96 LT1 TA M6 to the track tonight. My kumhos have lots of tread on them, but I'm not sure how my setup will respond on the track.

I don't plan on staging her, or running through the water box.

Can anyone offer some tips sionce this is my first time? I plan on watching a couple of races first to get the hang of it.

So yeah, bring the advice on!

From: Michigan is a decent state.
Dont do a big burn out. just clean the tires off.

Roll up. until you see the yellow lights. then CREEP (its a matter of inches) until you see the second set of lights go up. Green means go

just be cool, calm and collective. Dont worry about reaction time. you can get a 15 sec reaction time and run a 10 sec time. time starts when you move. So take a deep breath and launch right, dont go crazy

If there is some insane rediculious 7 sec car next to you, just give him a 2 second head start. I always do. I want to hear my car incase something is going wrong and to hear tire sping.

Good luck

Ok i suppose your on the stock 3.42's make sure you leave at a high enuff rpm that you dont stop the tires. Go at an rpm where you kinda bark the tires.
