Missing/hesitation problem on 93Z?? Not opti

A buddy of mine asked for my help in diagnosing his car. He says that sometimes when he's going down the road his car will begin to "buck" and miss. The car is a 93 Z28, only mods are intake and catback, he also has a six speed conversion. He said that the other night he started the car up, and it began to miss and idle very rough, and when he hit the gas to bring the revs up it would bog. The service engine soon light was on, and within a few seconds it began to run normally again. He said that when the car was scanned it showed no codes.

Plugs and wires are new, any ideas??

Wink missing on 1994 lt1 z28

I am having similair problems. When she is cold, she runs fine, but when mine warms up it misses. I have had two mechanics look at mine. One mechanic says it is either a bad injector or sensor. The other mechanic says it is the opti-spark

I have had it on the machine..... with no codes, no bad sensors and with no service engine soon light on. I still have the opti-spark to change this weekend.

This is what I have changed so far....spark plugs, wires, coil, fuel filter, fuel pump, coolant temp sensor. The only thing left is the ignition module and opti-spark. Undoubtly, the opti-spark goes out quite a bit on these old camaros. Give me your e-mail and I will let you know if it fixes the missing. Good luck

Make sure the MAP sensor is connected properly and the harness is tight and un-damaged. My car bucked when the harness clip broke and the connecter slipped out slightly.

Does your oil pressure fluctuate at all when its bucking?

thebadone- My email is Fastzntn@aol.com Thanks for your help!!

Gripenfelter- Not sure if the oil pressure fluctuates, this is a buddies car in question, and I got the symptoms from him. I'm trying to get some ideas of what to look for on here before I go help him out. I'll check the MAP sensor connection

You need a laptop with logging software and you could run it and it would display the code. Then just review the log and vwala. Sounds like they are on the right track with MAP.
