Breaking in a new motor
Breaking in a new motor
I just built a lt1, .030 over and all, the cam is already been broken in another engine. The computer is already been tuned by www.madz28.com. Do i need to put some miles on this motor before i just give it hell? Its got a new transmission with a new stall, if that makes a difference.
I appreciate the help

When I broke in My new 383 here is what I did.
Let car run for 20 minutes on first start up and chaned oil and filter. Took it easy for another 500 Miles and changed the oil and filter again.....Then I started havin some real fun with it
I used 10W30 Dyno Oil on my break in.
Hope that helps,
Claude

Be sure to keep the revs under 3500 at the most and try not to "lug" the engine on the hwy for the first 500.
