agreed, the only way to have vacuum in the crankcase is to have a restricted fresh air inlet hose

Take it out and drive it like you stole it. Maybe the rings will seat. But if you have been seriously babying it, it might be too late.

Hence, perform a leak down test!!!!!

well i cleaned the air filter and took it out and drove it hard for a couple cycles. still the same. there is no oil going into the intake and performance is great. i also took off the oil fill cap while the car was running and no oil puffed out, so therefore i guess the rings r good. i have pro comp magnum 1.6 roller rockers with stock valve covers with the inside braces and baffles modified so the rockers would fit. my question is would the valve covers be the problem such as a broke baffle or something. i still havent done a leak down test but its coming this week. any thoughts? thanks alot

Is it possible you crimped the baffle for the vent line in the passenger side valve cover closed?

And not to quibble.. but the only way air will move from the front of the throttle body, through the line to the valve cover, into the crankcase, and out through the PCV valve is if the PCV valve is at a lower pressure than the starting point in front of the throttle blades. Since that point is always lower than atmospheric pressure, there has to be a vacuum in the crankcase for the air to move there.... flow only occurs when there is a pressure difference.

check compression and do a leakdown test. equipment is cheap enough to buy. a few places sell the leakage tester, but the compression tester should be found at any place that sells air tools.

Did you have the engine built with low tension rings? This will cause blow by sometimes significant enough to cause the dilemma you are going through.
