Which brand gasket and seals?

I am in the process of a cam and valvetrain swap and i have yet to get my gaskets and seals. Should i get GM ones from the dealer or should i get some from autozone?
I also want to change my oil pan gasket.

Fel-pro is a good choice, the GM stuff is good too though.

Yeah, i was thinking of using Fel-pro for everything. I just wasn't sure if there were any specific gaskets or seals that i should use from one brand or the other.

I would agree GM and Felpro are both good. This does not apply to what you are doing but the head gaskets from both are thicker than what most of us want so there is the only area I would really look at any other brand.

Right on with Fel-Pro. That is just Federal-Mogul's brand name. Fed-Mogul is major OE supplier - probably made the gaskets that came OE on your car anyway. Only other major brands are Victor Reinz (made by Dana) and Corteco (made by Freudenberg NOK). Those are the 3 big OE suppliers and all are good. The GM gaskets you get from a dealer will be made by one of those 3 companies - so no need to spend extra $$$.

Re: Which brand gasket and seals?

Fel-Pro gaskets are good for the most part, but I personally have had some problems with the intake gaskets lining up correctly, and I know a lot of other people have too. I would probably look into getting the GM intake gaskets and Fel-Pro the rest. Not sure about the GM gasket prices but something to look into.
