Is it the brake lights or the brake warning light that stays on?

If it is the brake lights the push switch is jammed, if the interior warning light is on it is low on fluid.

there's a spring loaded switch on your brake pedal, take a look at it

Have your brakes checked... the "brake" light comes on for at least two purposes... one is to show you the emergency brake is on. The other is to tell you there is an unexplained differential pressure between the front and rear braking circuits. If you look at the big "block" on the side of the ABS motor, where the lines from the master cylinder connect, there is an electric connection. This is for the switch that senses differential pressure. You may have a leak in either ther front or rear circuits, air in one of them, or the fluid is so low, only one of the circuits is getting fluid. Or maybe the pressure differential switch is faulty.
