brake caliper removal

brake caliper removal

hey, does anyone know the size of the hex socket that is used to remove the caliper? ive always borrowed one before and never payed attention to the size of it. i'm about to go get my own but need the size first. i think its an 8mm but i'm not positive.

Man..if you can wait till tonigt I can give you a diff. answer. Because I THINK its a 3/4 inch. I've used it from 86s...all the way to 96. Sorry not much help right now but like I said...if you can wait I'll be home tonight.

yeah, i know now its not 8mm. i found an 8mm allen wrench that i had and its too small. if you could find out, i would definitely appreciate it. thanks.

Front brakes require a 3/8" allen. Get one that is mounted in a socket for easiest use.

hey thanks. yeah, i was planning on getting one mounted in the socket. i just thought since i had some allen wrenches i'd check and see if i had one that fit (figures that i didnt). i appreciate the help.
