Bought a LT1 for my 67 - Questions

Ok, so I picked up a LT1/4L60E combo for a winter swap into my 67 Sport Coupe.

It comes with brand new Hedman headers, all the accessories and a painless wiring harness (which I'm not convinced will actually work well for my swap).

The main thing that I'm missing is an ECM.

Thing is - the guy I bought it from says it's out of a 96 Z28.
How do I know for sure?

If that's true that it would have had OBD2 to start with. Is there any reason why I couldn't just buy any ECM (OBD1) and make it work? Would I have to stick with OBD2 for some reason that I can't think of?

I also want to do the engine seals, except for the head gasket. Is there a kit available or should I just buy things individually?

While I've got the engine out I also want to do a cam swap.
I'm not going to be emissions restricted and I'm looking to make a whole bunch more power - can anybody recommend a good cam that would be decent for the odd time daily drive also?

I'm painting the LT1 orange to make it better look like a retro/newer swap, I think it will be cool.

Going to top it off with the Corvette engine covers also.

I can't friggin wait to dig in!

I would use a 94-95 PCM. OBDI and cheaper to program. You also would have less emission things to worry about.

Use the VIN derivative to find the year model: http://shbox.com/1/block_vin.jpg

If it has a crank position sensor, it's a 96-97.

Valve covers, fuel rail, heads, ancillaries will tell you what kind of car it came from.

Given that you are going to modify the engine:

If you're going pay somebody to reprogram it, more people can program the OBD2 (96-97)

If you're going to reprogram it yourself, it's cheaper to program the OBD1 (94-95)
