Ugh...that's not good at all. Sounds partly familiar.

I'm going to e-mail my guy with the car and see if he's made any progress.

wow its really sad to see a good company and product go down hill because some greedy owners want to max their proffit and don't realize there will be NO PROFFIT when customers stop buying this junk.

Good luck to the op.

Re: Bought a Dynaspark; arrived DOA. :(

He got the second Dynaspark on there, Code 16, (Ignition low resolution pulse not detected).

F--- me running.

I'm going to call Monday since nobody is answering the phones today, and tell them I want my money back, and to send a pre-paid box to take this hunk of **** back.

2 bad Optis? Give me a break.

The guy who has my car has a friend selling an Opti off of his Vette, $200, 65K miles or so I think it has. I don't know if that is a good deal or if I should splurge on a new one from RockAuto for $350.

I'm a little antsy about paying over half the price of a new one for one that is 15 years old with 60K+ miles, and no guarantee/warranty.

I'm sure it's been asked a million times. Who has the best price on a Delco/Delphi factory Opti?

I see $358 for a Delphi on RockAuto. Anything better?

Decided to just go with that used opti mentioned above. 58K, $150. Already on the car, it works, just do it.

I'm extremely disappointed with Dynaspark. You would think after one failed $400 unit went out, they'd make damn sure the second unit was thoroughly tested first.

Nothing but disappointment.

If you followed the link I posted up above, you can see I went through exactly the same thing with Dynaspark. I have my rebuild unit, which worked before I sent it away for rebuilding, but doesn't anymore, and a new unit they sent me which also doesn't work.

I spoke to Bob Hogan about 2 months ago and he told me they have no provisions to test the units going out.

That's weird, he told me that they are all tested in-house before they go out. Either he's lying to one of us, or he just got the capability within the last couple months.

I spoke to him on the phone yesterday. Told him after 2 failed units, I don't have time to mess around anymore and went with another solution and I just wanted my money back and to go on my way. He agreed. Going to return the unit and get a refund. I'll post up to update if I receive my refund or have any issues.

What a mess.

Think about this: If they had the capability to check units before they send them out, why don't any of these units work???
You can check every forum and you will find a thread about Dynaspark units repaired or new, not working.

Yeah that's what I don't get. IF they can test them, then how did I get two bad ones?

If I had a customer get a bad one, I'd make DAMN sure the next one that went to him was immaculate and 100% functional.

Exactly. Doesn't bode well for Dynaspark.

If they can rebuild them, but not test them. That's no good.

If they can test them and you get two in a row that are bad, that's no good, either.

Hope the refund works out.

Re: Bought a Dynaspark; arrived DOA. :(

I agree with Rob/Dave 100%. Regardless of what the product may be, if you are producing it or rebuilding it, what business sense does it make to not test it, or have that capability, before you send it to the customer? And there is just no excuse whatsoever to ship out a 2nd defective product after the customer has already received one bad one. These folks should know better than anyone that with this particular part, the car isn't running in the meantime so there's the inconvenience issue too. It really is too bad because I was looking at this product as a replacement down the road if my original ac delco unit, that I rehabbed myself, ever quits, but not anymore. Good luck on your refund. I bought a cheapie unit last year on ebay for 90 bucks, it lasted less than a year. I called them and they told me to send it back, they'd send a replacement right out. After months of no word and many phone calls, found out a few weeks ago they went out of business.
