bought a 93 M6, thoughts on mods

well i bought it and it has the 3.23 with the six speed. it outran a stock 96 ta. is there something different about the 93's that make them quicker? this one seems exceptionally strong. it is 100% stock, it was a 1 owner car and even the exaust is stock.

ive been out of the Z28 game since i lost my iroc-z, whats the best sounding exaust these days?

exhaust is your opinion... check out the exhausts at www.ls1sounds.com they have both ls1's and lt1's with aftermarket exhausts and some with other mods.

www.speeddensity.org <----check that first
93's are strong runners, they have a lot of differences thruout the car compared to other LT1's

edit: ive been reading that long tubes into an x-pipe with bullets hung on it sounds evil

My '93 Formula is an automatic, but here's what worked for me:

Hooker Catback: car picked up 2 tenth's in the 1/4 mile.

MAC headers and Y-pipe: another 2 tenths

K&N FIPK: Ditto

MAC off road pipe: 1 tenth

BFG Drag Radials: 1 tenth

Stuff that didn't work:

Jet Stage 1 chip: car lost 2 tenths, I talked to Jet's "Customer service", got no where, and now I won't buy anything from them. It's a shame because I had really good luck with their Q-jet stuff. I'm getting off my soap box now...

B&M shift kit: No gain, but my car is a little more consistant. You don't have to worry about this with a M6.

Well I'm on the more extrem side!

I would start with your free mods like the TB bypass, EGR & AIR systems.

As for money Mods:
A Cam, Roller Tip Rockers and a Cold Air Kit for starters.
A K&N air filter works good also.

93 cars The 93's are regarded as being the quickets of the 93-97 LT1's stock for stock. My BONE STOCK 93 A4 ran 13.7@103.3mph straight out of the box with about 75,000 miles on it.
I would suggest doing your basic mods like cai, exhaust, some long tube headers and ypipe, electric waterpump(i got 13rwhp from my meziere) for starters. Then if you want to get more advanced you can do heads/cam stuff like that.

got cat removed(was clogged) and a single side exit exaust (muffler is the flowmaster that is about 4 inches long) and a 3inch I pipe and the throttle response got even better and it sounds mean.
