Most stock cars benefit from more air movement. That usually means a free flowing air intake system and a decent cat-back exhaust system.

A good cold air induction is first and foremost. Instead of a catback, I'd get an exhaust cutout installed behind your catalytic converter. I picked up a tenth and a couple MPH over my Flowmaster catback, and it was way less expensive than a full catback. You'll lose some low end though, so a steeper gear in the rear will make up for that. 3.73 if you have an auto and 4.10 if you have a 6 speed.

Why will you "lose some low end" with a cutout?

Horsepower can get expensive !! first thing I would buy would be new exhaust and a c.a.I
and you can expect your gas mileage to go down only because of the sound coming out the new
exhaust system

When I had mine put in, the car seemed happier at higher RPMs. I had to give it more gas leaving lights, and just noticed that the power band seemed to move upward over the Flowmaster catback. I attribute it to less backpressure. No dyno proof, but I had 100K miles of SOTP on that car and probably over 500 1/4 mile passes.
