getting knock retard on WOT runs. What should i start looking at to see if its false or not? should i run a higher octane and see if the knock retard stays?

Could be real retard, and some race gas might help you troubleshoot that, or you might have false knock from your exhaust banging or worn out engine mounts or some other mechanical noise. Your knock sensor might be bad if it is original equipment - they don't last forever. You're probably going to get a little on WOT shifts anyway, but that's supposed to happen. You could desensitize it if you wanted to.

 

it was a little in the tune but anymore and he said it just be removing it. but 2 people looked at my datalog and didnt think the retard was good being there. ill check into my exhaust for banging or motor mounts bad. maybe swap the knock sensor

 

Are you using the LT4 knock module?

 

no. it was desensitized as much as it could be without completely making it useless
