bolting lt1 to k member tips?
Re: bolting lt1 to k member tips?
I just tried to get my engine level while picking it up with my cherry picker, then moved the cherry picker over the k member. Lowering slowly and carefully, I got one side in them focused on the other side. Once you have one side in, you can see if you need to go up or down for the other side. It really isn't that hard, but getting the engine/k member to line up is harder in my opinion. You have to keep things clear, as well as keeping the struts pulled back as they want to cant in with weight. But take you time, and it will happen.

Same here. Just take your time and you'll be fine. Make sure you watch out for brake lines, linkages and wires that may get caught. The thing only goes back in one way! Getting the steering linkage hooked back up is a little fun, and the struts do want to sort of fall in towards the center of the car. What I did was got the thing see-sawing front and back(and side to side) until it looked very close to me. Then I just started lowering down the body of the car onto the k member. Get a few bolts started and lower it about an inch at a time. You'll be fine, it's definitely not as hard as you would think it would be. I think I could have my engine dropped out the bottom in a day or so.
