bogging down

I have a 94 Z28 that recently started acting up. When I get on it and give it all the gas it will just go up to about 4000rpm's like its bogging down and the service engine soon light will come on. Then after about 15 seconds the light will go off. When I am going about 20 to 50mph's it just misses really bad. Any suggestions. Thanks alot.

Could it be my fuel filter or injectors?

it could be injectors. this is not all it could be. check plugs, wires, coil. do you still have the factory opti in? i would change the fuel filter if it is old. i would not think it would be the filter but its nice to have a clean one in. i had my fuel pump go out on my 95. i would get it scanned and see.

Mine is doing the same thing at 4000 rpm, but my SES light doesn't come on. Also, mine used to stumble sometimes b/w 25 and 50 mph, but it hasn't done it lately. My car doesn't bog down in first (I have an a4 tranny) but it does in 2nd and 3rd at 4K rpm, but i don't know about 4th. I replaced my fuel pump about 3 weeks ago, not any better, my fuel filter about 3 nights ago, and it's still the same. My plugs are about 14 months old and my wires are about 7 months old. I guess i'm gonna replace the good ol' Opti and see if it helps like everyone says it will. Sorry i'm not more help!

the opti, plugs, and plug wires was replaced about 6 months ago. i don't think the fuel filter has ever been changed and it has 150,000 miles. i know thats pretty bad since they say change them once a year. so i'm going to try that.
