Re: Boaring out maf

As already stated, don't mess w/it. There is much more to porting the maf than simply "getting more air flow". Anytime you mess w/the MAF, you will need to recalibrate the MAF via LT1 Edit/Tunercat, etc. The PCM is calibrated to work with the stock MAF and anytime you change how air flows across the MAF, you need to recalibrate the MAF tables in the PCM.

Yeah, don't mess with it. You wouldn't trick your scales to make you "think" you weighed less would you? Exactly, you want an accurate measurement.

If you know how to program the PCM and have alot of time to do so...then go ahead and port it. If not you should not port it but removing the screen has proven to flow alot more air.

Even if you do have tuning capabilities, still don't touch it. Unless you have a way of flowing the maf and compensating accordingly.

If you do pull the screen, make sure you don't misplace the c-clip. I would love to put mine back in except I lost the clip. I think that might be the cause of my car running a little rich.
