Blown LT 355 Dyno Results

I just got back from TEA in Bowling Green with a budy of mine watching them dyno tune his car. It is a 1996 Z-28 with a 355. It has stock crank, Trick Flow rods, custom grind HR cam, JE dished pistons bored .30 over with CNC ported stock heads. It is running a Vortech S-trim with 10 pounds of boost through a T-56 and into a Strange 12 Bolt. The car has SMC alcohol injection and it made 572 RWHP and 511 RWTQ with 93 degree heat and 90% humidity. Just for fun, he iced down a bottle of alcohol and water and replaced what was in the container and it made 18 more RWHP with the iced water/alcohol than the fluid that was in the tank!

Thumbs up

Awesome #'s your buddy has there, especially with CNC'd factory LT1 heads. Now it's time to turn some serious #'s at the strip.

Yeah, anyone would be happy with those numbers! I think that the Compression ratio is about 9.0 to 1. The crank got a good going through, it was built by Nick Norris at Nutek. I beleive that he did polish and chamfer the crank. TEA stated that their dyno is very conservative for a Dynojet. They said that most cars that run on their dyno make quite a bit more power on others. So it should be making around 600 to the tires.

I wouldnt expect those numbers at all. Ive installed two ATI kits on LS1s and one had cam, full exh., full ind, dyno tune and he put down 480RWHP and only 434 RWTQ at 9psi. the other one only had full exh./ind. and 8lbs and put down 425RWHP. so 575 RWHP is downright awesome. whatelse is done with the car? billet fuel rails? what inj.s? what cam?

Be careful with broad generalizations and assumptions...nonetheless, the car is making incredible power regardless of any claimed 'underrating'.

It's their dyno, they should know how it performs, I'm just going by what the dyno operator told me and what he has experienced and observed.
