blown head gasket..what precautions to take before I get to work on it?

white smoke from the intake manifold/TB when trying to get my car running, water in the oil filler neck and a white milky substance inside the neck as well. Im sure these are the symptoms of a blown head gasket. But, I wont be getting to work on it for a couple weeks. Should I drain the oil ASAP to get that coolant filled oil out of the engine(there arent any bubbles on the dipstick though )? what else should I do, if anything?

I know your not thinking of running it still. Sounds like you might be. Either way...DON'T. As long as you don't run it you'll be fine. How long have you driving it like that? Just leave it until you can work on it.

(doing searches)

With a blown head gasket, does your car all of a sudden not turn over one day or does it start losing power a few days or so before? Depending how bad it is I guess you can speculate...hmmm...

I'm just trying to see how you car was reacting with this problem cuz my car was perfectly fine yesterday. My car won't start and white smoke coming from SLP CAI (TB). I've never had a car long enough for it to break down and troubleshoot so this is my first...thanks

Hi

Sorry to hear about the car problem. Make sure to think twice about "might as well while I am there" It can get really expensive. I went through the exact same thing.

I could have did a head gasket which will take me a day's work and $40 keeping my car at 476rwhp, or go to a stroker which took me 1 yr and $XXXXX and now easy 611rwhp. Although the car is running better than I can dream of, I would probably not have done it.

The other thing is that you will probably have killed your O2 sensors too. Any coolant will destroy them. Don't replace those until you have started the car and make sure all the coolant is out of the system first.
