Question bleeding abs unit

This isnt for an lt1 but a 1500 97 silverado. I just did a brake job and put new rotors pads drums and shoes on. I adjusted everything correctly ( I checked several times because I thought it was the problem). After I did all this and bled the system the pedal was lower than before. Ithen replaced the brake booster and master cylinder and bled the system once again. This yielded no result. My neighbor told me that he the abs system needed to be bled apparently this is unrelated to the normal way you bleed brakes. My question is was he correct and if so how do I bleed an abs unit?

Your ABS unit should have bleeder screws on it. Bleed the ABS box, bleed your brakes, then re-bleed the ABS.

Is the abs box located on the caliper, if not where?

The ABS unit should be under the hood. Follow the brake lines from your master cylinder to a metal box. This is the ABS unit. Look for the bleeder screws on the box. Hope this helps...
