zr1 wheels do not fit!

I recently ordered black zr1 wheels from OE Wheels out of Florida. The wheels are 17 x 11 with Gsd3 315 35 r17's in the back and 17 x 9.5 with excta mx275 40 r 17's in the front. They look great but rub in the front when I turn and in the back driverside over big bumps. I can not seem to figure out where they are rubbing. When the car is parked and the wheels are turned they are not hitting anywhere. Any suggesetions???

What mm offset did you get ?

17 X 9.5" need to be 56mm
17 X 11s need 50mm

You need to do massaging in multiple places for 315/35/17's, they're not a direct fit.

You have to roll the fender lip, as well as relocate the bump stop and maybe some hammering on the inner fender well.

That's weird, I wouldn't expect the front to have problems as that's the size SS and WS6 come with from the factory. Is the car lowered?

Anyway, how do you like the wheels? I was thinking about getting some of the Florida OE wheels off of ebay. Do they look exactly like the GM ones? Did you weight the wheels?

Thanks!

How much are the front tires rubbing when you turn? Is it just the edge of the tire when you turn the wheel all the way to the left or right? Also, are the front tires hitting the fenders or the inner fenders?

You may want to double check the offset, it should be on the box. I have the same wheels and no rubbing up front. Then again, I'm running the Supra 712's.. maybe the MX's have slightly wider tread?

I'm still waiting for someone to send me a set of Y2K C5 rims out of the goodness of their heart.

I have 17x9 SS wheels, with Kumo 275/40. They rub in the front a little on the inner fenders no big deal. I heard you have to run certian tires with your 315's. A nitto dr 315 is skinnier than a BFG 315, so more rubbing would come from a BFG. I also heard that you might have to get a adjustable panhard rod? Not sure tough. Good luck

Not true. It depends on what the backspacing is. I don't know which offset you are supposed to have... I don't really know what measurement the offset is, but I do know that if you have a 17x11" wheel with 7.93" backspacing you should have no problem. You may have to grind a little off the edge of the jounce-bumper bracket, but that's about it. Some instances you may need an adjustable panhard, maybe even a little hammering, but definitely no fender lip rolling... as long as you get the correct offset/backspacing.

That's weird. I have oem SS rims with 285/40 Michelins on for three years w/o any rubbing or problem of any kind.

Remember, the OEM SS wheels are 9", the OE Florida wheels are 9.5". It shouldn't make a difference if the tire is the same size, but who knows there that extra .5" is, in the back of the rim or in the front.
