black hose to air intake???

The black hose connected to the tube between the throttle body and air filter box. It runs down by the front drivers side tire and connects to what looks like a black electrical box. Does anyone know what this is for and if it is not hooked up will it make the performance of my car any different. I am asking because my car has been running like crap. I posted a thread couple of weeks ago explaining the problem people told me that the throttle position sensor might be bad. I replaced that and it still does it. I pulled it in the garage today thinking that I was going to have to start replacing plugs and wires maybe even timing chain started to pull some stuff off and realized that that hose was not hooked up. So does anyone know what that is for. Any help would be great.

Thanks

The only balck hose i can think of that connects to your air intake is the tube that goes to your air pump. If there is a hole open on the CAI before the maf then it shoudn't effect the way the car runs to much. But you should hook the hose back up.

it wont make your car run bad other than pulling in air thats a few degrees hotter since it's open to the engine compartment.

Not to mention, it's unfiltered air. Fix it asap.
